  A new version 5.1 has been released. All String resources has been externalized to be easily translated. Locales files are located in new directory lang. [ mp3 - explorer ] is released with English and French language files. Other translations should be available soon. Old plugins are now used for skin purpose.   A new version 5.0 has succeded to the shareware version 4.3. This new version is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License. The source code is available at :

  This way of developping application should provide new evolutions to [ mp3 - explorer ]. The drawback is that some portions of old code were not compatible with the new license and had to be removed. [ mp3 - player ] using XAudio's code and Microsoft's WMA format are no longer in the softwware.

[ mp3 - explorer ] uses the GNU General Public License by the Free Software Foundation and is free (as in freedom) software.
Free software is a matter of the users' freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software. More precisely, it refers to four kinds of freedom, for the users of the software:

• The freedom to run the program, for any purpose (freedom 0).

Drag and Drop actions
• Dropping your files into the right category in the Main Category Pane will automatically change the artist, the genre or the album.
